How does it work?

Commissioning a project like this will require me to pay you a visit. I will need to see your staircase (or schematics if your staircase is not installed) to understand and advise what preparation work is required for both the treads and the risers. The preparation work will need to be organised by yourselves. At this meeting we will discuss what art you would like me to see on the risers and what material will best suit the demands of your staircase.

Choosing your art theme is the fun bit and I can pretty much add any subject on them. What subject would you like on yours? 

• Maybe you own a farmhouse and would like farm-related content
  
• A beautiful country cottage that oozes nature and wildlife
  
• An enthusiast of old cars
• Your much loved pet in crazy positions
  
• Calligraphy depicting precious words or a fun quote.

The ideas are endless and I can help you make this decision.

From this initial visit I will then be able to provide you with a quote. 

Once happy to proceed, I will initially create visuals in Photoshop® of your art on your staircase. 

Once finalised, if proceeding with wooden stair risers then I will then start to hand-craft the tiles. This involves initial shaping, priming, painting to the desired colour and applying the chosen art. (If an alternative material is chosen for your risers then I will inform you of the necessary process.)

Once finished, every tile is then protected with a hard-wearing varnish. The tiles are then delivered direct to you ready for installation with specially supplied fixings.

Once completed you are the proud owners of a completely bespoke, eye-catching staircase that most likely will make you the envy of any visitors.

On-going care for the tiles - the tiles are protected with a hard wearing varnish and can be wiped with a damp cloth to remove any scuffs and marks.
